Our aim
We aim for this website and the member portal to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Many members reach us on a telephone and a slow connection, so we also aim for pages that are light, and that work at any screen size.
What we have done
- Pages are built with proper headings, lists, labels and landmarks, so that screen readers and other assistive technology can find their way around.
- Everything can be reached and used with a keyboard, and the menu opens and closes with one.
- Photographs that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% without being cut off, and the layout adapts to narrow screens.
- Movement is kept gentle. If your device is set to reduce motion, pages appear without their scroll-in animation.
- Form fields have visible labels, and mistakes are explained in words next to the field, not by colour alone.
- The Questions & Answers page works without JavaScript: every answer opens and closes with a standard control.
- A credential's QR code is always printed alongside its verification code, which can be typed in instead.
- Status results — such as whether a credential is valid — are announced to screen readers as they appear.
Known limitations
- The moving film at the top of the home page is decorative and has no sound; it does not carry information that is not also given in text.
- Some older photographs may not yet have full descriptions.
- Payments are completed on Paystack's pages, which we do not control.
- Printed credentials and receipts are designed for paper. If you need one in another format, ask us.
Getting help
If anything on this website is difficult to use — the application, a payment, the portal — the Global Office can help you another way, for example by completing a step with you. We would rather you asked than struggled.
Telling us about a problem
If you find something on this website that you cannot use, please tell us through the contact page. Say which page it was, what you were trying to do, and what device or assistive technology you use if you are comfortable sharing it. We will reply, and we will fix what we can.
